Job Description We are currently looking for an Inspection Engineering Professional to join our Production Services Team within Upstream International Operated (UIO). This is an onshore role based within the Aberdeen based Inspection Team, supporting Shell operated offshore installations. This opportunity is at Inspection Engineer level.
The inspection team is crucial to providing an assurance of asset integrity. The team is responsible for planning and supervising inspection work scopes of pressure systems (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, pipework & relief valve recertification) and provides an inspection service for the structural and pipeline disciplines.
This is an exciting and challenging time to join the Aberdeen UIO team due to the varied nature of the installations supported (concrete structures, steel jacketed platforms & FPSO), differing maturity (from midlife to imminent decommissioning) and the integration of the recently acquired Curlew FPSO.
Reporting to the Inspection Team Leader, the Inspection Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of pressure systems inspection. This includes the full life cycle of equipment from design, construction, commissioning, in-service inspection thorough to decommissioning. You will directly contribute to maintaining the integrity of the installations by the provision of an inspection and Quality Control (QC) service. This includes the organisation, coordination and monitoring of inspection activities on the installation.
This is a development opportunity working within a specific installation inspection team. The incumbent will be encouraged to expand their inspection knowledge, including taking part in “hands on” inspections both offshore and onshore. The Inspection Engineer will work alongside the Area Inspector and duties will include:
•Preparation of and implementing inspection scopes
•Coordinating the generation of inspection workpacks
•Analysis of inspection data and coordination of inspection reporting meetings
•Supporting RBI expert group sessions
•Ensure inspection databases are maintained
